That darn lich king again

My WoW playing has been intermittant at best lately. My main character is an 80 human shadow priest named Kattina. I have a few levels on my DK and my Warlock is 75. The rest of my crew are all under 45 so they don't get to play with new content.

I finally got patched to 3.3 and then got to log in last night. I'm looking forward to seeing the new stuff. I have hopes that it's a most standard dungeon experience. My Argent Tournament ventures didn't go that well. I never could get the hang of jousting. I had to get guildies to dps my opponent while I kept my horse alive just to get past that particular quest. I tried jousting so many times, I pictures the horses crying when Kattina came trudging back from the jousting area. I'm sure they drew straws and the loser had to take Kattina on her next round.

I had a heck of a time finding the entrance to the new stuff last night. Jaina might mention to her assistant in Dalaran that 'enter on the side of Ice Crown Citadel' isn't particularly helpful when the thing is freaking huge. A guildie was helpful enough to tell me to look under the first E in IcE Crown Citadel on my map. I talked to Jaina (I'm almost sure I'm spelling that wrong)..I talked to Ms. Proudmoore and she gave me my next task. Give the guys guarding the entrance are 80 elites, I definitely need friends. Hopefully tonight I'll find someone that doesn't mind running it again.

Kattina's side project as I putter around has been getting the dungeon achievements for all of the old world instances. I finished Mauradon and Zul'Farak last night. Zul'Farak went incredibly fast - probably 15 to 20 minutes total to kill the boss. And for once I didn't lose any of the people I was rescuing (at least not until I killed them myself). 88| I just have Dire Maul left. I think that one will take a bit more time since I have to clear all three wings.

The Same Old Followup!

My life centers around Tulukaa, my Death Knight. Then again I have no life as my wife says. :) Tulukaa is now level 76, has maxed herbalism and is slowly working on inscription.

There was this one quest I worked on the day before yesterday where the Scourge had taken over the Undercity. How is that you say? Undercity belongs to the Horde, but Blizzard in their infinite wisdom created an alternate ending to this quest and it resulted in a battle royal to retake the city. This was one of the coolest quests I have every been on and I hope they have more in stock like this one was.

Damsine, my level 71 hunter has been taking a long nap, though I have been bringing her out every now and then to do some tailoring. Of my priest Gandamea, well lets just say it's vey slow going as I'm really not of the priestly sort.

Other then that, I haven't done much more then level and level and level....

A Priestly Affair.

My Death Knight has made level 74 a few days ago, and at the moment I'm resting him so he can gain double experience. In the mean time I rolled a priest for two reasons. One, I've never tried playing a priest before and two, The guild I'm in is sorely lacking in priests. So I'm going to try and fill in when we need a few healers for instances. It will be awhile before that happens though, as she is only level 11 at the moment.

I'm still trying to decide which way to go with this priest as if I train as a shadow this will help in leveling, but holy will help as a true healer. Oh well I can always respecialize from one to the other as time permits. By the way, I did say that she is a female blood elf. If I have to look at the tushy of an avatar let it be female I say.

Changing Tracks Again

My only 80 is a human priest. Up until about 4-5 months ago, roughly, she's always been a shadow priest. Because our guild was chronically short of healers for runs, I respeced holy/disc and learned to be a pretty good healer for raids. Now we have a new 80 priest that was pressured to go shadow by her old guild, when she wanted to heal things. This weekend we both did the big swap. She's back to holy and I'm back to shadow. I swear it's like learning to play all over again. It's such a different process - dpsing vs. healing. I have to say the dpsing is much easier than watching everybody's health bars. We're supposed to finish our Naxx run from Friday tonight. Let's hope the two heroics I ran last night have warmed me up enough to not totally blow it in Naxx.

Trading One for Another.

Continuing onward, I have been trading off between my Death Knight and Hunter in Northrend. The reason is that my Death Knight caught up to the extra experience pointer and loses experience if I go past that pointer. So I hike over to an innkeeper let him sleep for a couple of days. While doing that I play my Hunter. Right now she is 5 bars from gaining level 71.

The quests have been generous with the gold as well. Most offer 4 gold per quest, but some of them have been offering 9 gold which is pretty darn good for a quest.

The new guild I'm in has been pretty active, and chatty as well. I've become more involved in helping them out then previously, since they are generous with being helpful.

Back to leveling I guess.

Death Knight

I haven't been blogging much with WoW, due to pure laziness you could say. Anyways I've been playing the new Death Knight from Wrath of the Lich King and have fell in love with him. I've called him Tulukaa and he made level 70 yesterday, 2/1/09.

Needless to say, he has performed way pass my expectations on character actions. He is a Frost Death Knight and is called by some a tank. A lot of other players have created Bloods but I like to be different, I guess. :)

I went and bought the DK flyer yesterday as well and now am very poor again. Being in the new zones turns out I can't use him, go figure. The only place is Outland at present.

Well back to playing my little death dealer.

Scary Beyond All Reason

I've reached a point in WoW that I swore wouldn't happen for years yet....I got my daughter an account. I know I should relax and just let her have fun, but her play style is so foreign to my mindset in WoW. She picks her gear based on looks...I know....Stats don't matter. Quality doesn't matter. She just wants her mage to look nice.

She left the training area still as a level 2 human mage. She was following a deer and wanted to make sure it got home safely. By level 5 she's been wandering the roads in Duskwood and even hopped the boat to Borean Tundra.

I try to insulate her from other players as best I can, and I'm teaching her to turn down all request to duel. I left general and trade chat right away for her character.

The messages she types in guild chat are pretty funny...in her world Lizard (from Spiderman) is running around, along with the other super-villians. She will tell me to watch out that lizard is behind me. I am lucky to have a pretty easy going, family-oriented guild, so no one is getting their knickers in a twist over anything, though she is young and they do get to watch their language when she's logged in.

I know, I know, it's supposed to be 13 and up and she's not quite 9 (and she has autism), but I couldn't take the begging anymore. (That and I really want to earn the Zhevra mount.) At least this way I know she won't be taking my characters out for a spin if I step away from the keyboard. My characters don't like swimming in uncharted waters with their clothes off, and then definitely aren't going to dance thusly clad in Darkshore.

The plus side for me is that she gets to play the game mommy is playing, she's typing actual sentences in guild chat (where we can't get her to write anything for school) and she has to read and follow quests to work on her character.

Exploring the Old World

With Brewfest running, I switched back to Kattina, my 70 shadow priest and let me 'lock (66) take a rest for a bit.

The boss for Brewfest is in Blackrock Depths. I've actually never been there before. When I started playing WoW, most of my guild was already in their 70s. By the time I was of a level for the Blackrock instances, they'd all moved on to Burning Crusade.

I was amazed to zone in and end up having a mole machine take me to a vast underground tavern. Crazy. After we took our turns beating up the quest guy, we decided to run through the area and get attuned to Molten Core. After that we went to LBRS and got our worg puppy pets. I think this week we're going to hit the Reginald Windsor quest line. I can't wait.
