A much better week!
The quick and the dirty:
Green Eggs & Beer: Win
IDI-FL: Win
2007 Looser League: Win
CamelBruisers Anonymous: Loss
[More:]
First, the loss.
CamelBruisers Anonymous - Lost 131.08 to 99.72 to Polish Falcons. Roy Williams, Andre Johnson, Jeff Wilkins, and the Patriots defense scored big for him. My team didn't do that bad, but I had Jamal Lewis on the bench, Matt Schaub outscored Marc Bulger for fantasy points, and I'd forgotten to put in Denver's defense to replace Seattle's. Ouch.
I think, by now, that Schaub has really proven himself, and it'll be interesting to see them take on Indy this week given that Houston often gives Indy a run, but Indy's defense has definitely improved. Denver is definitely in this week (they're playing Jacksonville, while Seattle has Cincinnati), I can't decide between Bulger and Schaub, and Jamal Lewis and the Cleveland Browns are up against Oakland, while Joseph Addai is against Houston and Willis McGahee is against Arizona. A hard choice there.
2007 Looser League - Won 112.57 to 79.85 against Twice as Fun! Yes, I kept Romo so far, despite the offers for him. He put up about 25 points for me. Ronnie Brown, Steven Jackson, and Vernon Davis all did poorly for Twice as Fun!, as did Donovan McNabb. I had a solid game down the board, though I had Braylon Edwards on the bench as well as Willis McGahee, and had Philadelphia's defense in instead of Jacksonville.
I think I'm excused on Edwards, though, much like Lewis above - I mean, did anyone really expect Cleveland to hang that many points on Cincinnati? Sure, in retrospect we should've seen it coming, maybe, but they did play Baltimore really hard. And, in the end, that's what makes a Pittsburgh fan like me excited.
Green Eggs & Beer - Won 79 to 45 over Yermuttersfreakingface!!! aka my little brother. What a wonderful win. He just had a bad day down the board - Donte' Stallworth got him zero points, and most of his players got 3-4 points. Tom Brady got me 20, Todd Heap 19, Frank Gore 16, and Jerricho Cotchery 15. Pretty nice, and it makes me feel better, though I still need to get rid of Matt Schaub in exchange for a quarterback who will play on the week that the Patriots have a bye, and Muhsin Muhammad managed to get me zero points.
I just can't count on Rex Grossman to throw enough to Muhammad, and they both suck and I hate them. I've got four receivers (out of six, and I play three) that have gotten ZERO points total for the season so far, and that's just unacceptable - well, one of them is Rod Smith, who is out 6 weeks. I need to do something though.
IDI-FL - Won 100 to 93 over Legion of Doom III. Solid showings from Frank Gore, Drew Brees (well, not a BAD showing from him), T.J. Whoseyourmomma, and Jeff Wilkins for me, plus the Patriots defense, while his team was solid, just not quite as good.
I missed out on big days from Dallas Clark and Marion Barber III in this game, so I can do better, and I'll need it, as some teams have scored 130+ so far. I might end up going with Roethlisberger next week - the Steelers are playing the 49ers, though Brees is up against the Titans, and I don't know who will do better.
And AUGH! No Steelers on cable this week. Darn Comcast, and darn DirecTV for keeping us from having Sunday Ticket. Guess it's off to a bar with us!
