Shot-Online is a golf game that you can play online with friends. It can be a little rough getting started as the tutorial, while in English, is poorly translated in some parts so reading it through twice is recommended. You'll also benefit if you're familiar with golf or have played other golf simulation games, otherwise an unfamiliarity with golf in general can cause additional confusion.
Before starting the tutorial you'll need to select one of five characters to use as your golfing avatar. Give the character a name and click the Connection button to get started. There's almost zero customization of characters at this point, but as you start playing and earning NG (the form of money in this game), you can buy different clothes and items that can help individualize your character. You can create up to three characters.

The basic storyline behind Shot-Online is that you've been accepted as a student to the Valhalla School. It must be an elite golfing school as I haven't seen the students do anything else besides golf or chat between courses.

The tutorial is split into 3 portions. In the first lesson, you'll learn how to make a shot. This involves clicking on the golf ball 3 times before it will sail down the fairway. The first click starts the gage, the second click on the upswing determines how much power will be behind your shot, and the final click determines how accurate of a shot you've made. You're aiming for the 100% on the upswing and 0% on the downswing to get maximum power and accuracy. After explaining how this part of the game works, you're allowed 5 practice balls to make shots with in a driving range.
The second lesson gives you a brief lesson on changing clubs. Wooden clubs are used for distance shots while irons are used for shorter, more accurate shots. Don't use the 1W for anything other than a tee-off as it will fail miserably after you're on the fairway.
The final lesson is another brief one about changing directions. You'll want to change the direction you're facing on holes that have a curved fairway to avoid driving the ball into the rough or out of bounds. Now that you've finished the tutorial, you should have 1500 NG and an Action Nectar in your pocket. Off to a good start!
