Ruins of Silan - Fighting the Goo Contamination
This morning I started with a visit to the Kami Guide. He's a cute little guy with big ears in the Kami Enclave by the ranger camp. Yeah, I know that Trykers aren't supposed to work for the Kami, but I was curious about them.
“Kami watch Oakleif for long time. Oakleif today very strong. Now Oakleif can help Kami. Kami fight Goo. Goo very strong and Goo bad for Homins and for Atys. When Goo touch animal, Goo take its spirit and spirit can no more go to Ma-Duk. When Goo kill spirit, Goo grow. To the West, lot of Goo and you help Kami destroy Goo.”
See, how cute is that... at least, in small doses.

So, I went to the northern edge of the goo and fought the nauseous frippo. Upon returning the Kami Guide expressed sorrow that the normally gentle frippo fell prey to the goo contamination, but then a hard edge entered its voice. “Goo-touched frippo cannot be saved, and so must die. Did well.” He then went on to explain that other animals have been contaminated as well. In particular, a herd of capryni have become contaminated, and need to be killed before they become the agent for spreading the Goo further.
The capryni herd was in the same place we found them yesterday, when gathering samples of goo residue for the Karavan. After thinning out the infected herd members some more, I returned to the Kami Master who sent me out after one of the ocyx. Braving the goo, Nutsi and I ventured out into the middle of the blight and fought three ocyx, and ran from the dominant ocyx, who chased us all the way to Yelk hill.
The reward for completing the tasks for the Kami Master was 15500 dappers and a raise in faction with the Kami.
