Reliving my experiences as a noob...
My friend's account is only around level 60 and his stats are really, really poor. Overall he must have like 700 skill points before he became a member and before he gave me permission to use his account. Playing on his account, I've come to realize how many immature, noobish players there are in Runescape (although I've always know and believed this, my experiences on his account only strengthen them).
Today I was trying to get my mage level to 45 by training on the Lesser Demon trapped inside the Wizard's Tower. I had given him over a thousand chaos runes which he never used when I told him to, so instead I just did the work for him and used them to increase his mage level. Many rangers and mages come here to train their range and magic, because it is an effective area to train. However, the thing about that area is that it's multicombat, therefore other players can fight the same monster as you are, so many are bothered by the fact that others are fighting the same monster as them and reducing the amount of experience they earn. People get mad and they begin yelling insults at each other and calling each other noobs because of their magic levels.
While I was there, people began asking what our magic levels were. I really don't like socializing with these kinds of noobs, because more often than not they're just there to show off their arrogance and weak skills (though occasionally, you get someone who just wants to talk and I can fully sympathize with that). Shortly after they all began calling each other noobs. It was ridiculous. People even began to make stupid remarks such as "I have a level 126 main u noob lol".
And the day before that I was training my range by the Moss Giants above Ardounge. Warriors kept complaining that I was taking their monster away and rangers kept calling me a noob because they wore Blue Dragon Hide whereas I was wearing basic leather. They also made fun of my range level, saying I was weak and noobish. There was even this one idiot who kept saying he could do a 22 with a dragon battle axe, obviously trying to show the world how powerful he was.
This kind of behavior is childish. I'm sick of it and have been for a long time. But I tolerate it, because I know how to handle it. If you don't like what's going on, turn your public chat to friends or better yet, off. You don't have to listen to these morons bicker. If you want to join in, go ahead, there's nothing wrong with that. Just make sure you won't be the one being picked on.
The ironic thing is that although they yelled noob at me, they don't know that I have a much higher leveled account than they do. I never tell anyone that because I myself don't show off unless there's a need to. I don't get my pride from making other people feel worthless. And I've also come to learn that no matter how good you are in something, there's always some one else who's better at it, so really there is no need to show off "how good you are", because in the end it only makes you look like a moron.
One more left to go...

Pkers
Pk= Player Kill
Pking= Player Killing
Pker= Player Killer
I'm sick and tired of hearing about people complaining about pkers and how they make Runescape worse. I myself am not a pker and have never truly been one, I have no plans to ever become one, and despite my level I am often attacked or killed by pkers while in the wild. Although during these times I am often mad or upset, I realize (when I'm more calm) that I'm not being mature on the matter and niether is 80% of the Runescape community (but hey, what do you expect?).
I'm often reading certain threads on the forum about people being pked and how they'd wish Jagex would introduce something that would protect the non pkers from the pkers. Many of their arguments are that pkers will pk people for no reason and that it ruins their treasure trail , monster (team) killing, effective coal mining, and whatever have you. Yes, if you are an avid level 3 treasure trail hunter, someone who likes to fight the King Black Dragon a lot with his friends, an agility trainer, or just plain normal person wondaring around the wild, then yes, it does disrupt what you're doing.
However, one must take into account that the wild is meant to be dangerous by both monsters and pkers alike. The fact it is dangerous is what keeps other players out and makes what's there, valuable. If the wild were like any ordinary town or place, then imagine how easy it would be to achieve everything the wild has to offer, from an insanely great agility training arena to monsters that drop items worth several millions. It would make the game much easier and take away the fear and adrenaline that one gets when traveling into the wild.
Let me give you an example. Let's say they remove the ability to pk (or make it literally impossible by introducing somekind prayer or button). Imagine how many people would be at the KBD lair, how many people would be killing the valuable monsters there (like the black unicorns for example, or greater demons for non members), how many people would complete their treasure trail, how many people would be training in the small agility course, how many people would be there. Trimmed/god armor prices would be cut down dramtically, agility would be harder to train (since certain obstacles mandate only 1 player at a time), unicorn horns would be so harder to get because EVERYONE is killing them, newbs would reap the benefits of what the wild has to offer (such as the runes in black warrior fortress), and so on.
The thrill of being in the wild would be non existant. Simply, things cannot work normally, and thus this would make the game worse. Fear is what keeps the players outside the wild. They fear losing their Abyssal Whips and whatever else they hold dear to another player within seconds. It's what makes the wild worth venturing into, and if players would stop being so stubborn and greedy, they'd realize that pkers are what make the wild worth visiting. You may or may not agree with me on the matter, but this is how I feel about the wild and pkers.
I'm a Runescape Classic veteran. I originally started playing Runescape in the year of 2002, and during that time I really loved Runescape. I would literally stay in one spot for hours at a time mining two coal rocks and spending 20 minutes walking back and fourth from the bank and my location. I worked really hard for this game, and for those of you who think Runescape is hard now, you know NOTHING.
I bring this up because I have been pked and attacked several times during my years with the game, and though at first I was upset, I've come to the realization that it was my fault. I wanted to take my chances and risk it all, and I lost.
Pkers can be very annoying and they're garunteed to drive you mad occasionally. But please, just ignore them. Don't say "!&@$ you!" or "Thanks for keeping the wild cool!", just ignore them. If you want to curse them out, go ahead and risk your account beind banned and having your time and message wasted on someone who's not even listening. Just remember that the wild is the pkers land, and the second you walk into it, you'd better be prepared to fight or run.

Helping a friend out...
As I told you all before, I'm currently playing Runescape on a friend's account.
I really don't recommend you share accounts with your friends, because this is against the rules Jagex has created. But really, I don't recommend you share accounts with your friends because it causes problems with the actual relationship between you and them. I've seen that it often does destroy friendships, but this isn't because of Runescape; it's because of the general nature of human beings. Humans are naturally very greedy, and often this is unlocked whenever something precious is within their hands, yet isn't theirs.
It doesn't even matter if you trust the person, because you can't even trust yourself completely. What if one day you spend 100k on runes and forget about the purchase? You'll naturally assume your friend stole it since only you and him have access to your account. This creates a kind of distrust and tension between friends, one that is often difficult to repair.
So I really recommend you don't share accounts with your friends, for both your sake and theirs. Just because I'm doing it doesn't mean you should too.
The above was to protect me from any kind of influence or blame in the event someone does decide to use my actions as an example to their stupidity and carelessness.
Now as I was saying, I'm currently playing on a friend's account because his internet has been down for a while and he feels that his membership is being wasted away, since he's not playing it. Before his internet went down, he had a lot of trouble with being a new member. He was confused and had difficulty deciding what to do, and although I was there to support him, I simply can't make decisions for him.
So therefore he asked me in person if I could help him out while he's away. I accepted the offer because this guy's my friend and one of the reason's I came back was because more and more people were playing it. I knew this guy for like 5 years and we're both about to go to college, so really there wasn't an issue of trust between us. Besides, we both feel it's only a game and that we know we won't mess each other up like that.
I'm basically playing on his account now, and I must say, it's very difficult for a level 103, 1500 skill point, 4 year RS and RSC veteran to play on a level 60, 700 skill point, year old account. It's even harder because he just became a member, therefore there are so many things to do and it's difficult for me to choose what. All my good member items which allow me to get around the world are also no longer available to me. Pretty much I'm playing like a newbie all over again... Great.
Well whatever. I got to work. I got him 15 agility levels and did some basic quests for him. I don't want to do too much because I feel he should do a lot more now, that way he gets an understanding of how the game works and what he should do in order to make the most out of his RS experience.
I've mentored several Runescape players. Most of them got into the high 90s and 1000 skill points. One of my best "pupils" has succeeded me during my retirement and now has over 1600 skill points and has 99 cooking. I know what I'm doing when it comes to this game. (Although, please understand I don't claim to be the best, I simply know how to handle things).
I don't mind helping my friend out at all. He's my friend. I know he will enjoy this game for a while, so I might as well get do what I can for him. I'm even trying to help get his computer back on track, but to no success. Hopefully he'll be back soon.
Anyways. Yes. Please don't share accounts. Happy scaping.

Smithing Addy, Selling The Wares.
Yay! I can finally work (a wee bit) with addy ores. I can turn them into bars, and I can make daggers and axes.
I've been mining south of Lumbridge, focussing primarily on the 5 spots of mithril that spawn there, and then filling in time by mining adamantite and coal in between. On Members worlds, I can generally find a world that doesn't have someone actively working on the mithril, so I've been hanging out at that spot quite regularly, using the Lost City bank as my depository.
I bring along nature runes and fire runes when I mine there, and I try to turn all of my adamantite ore into addy bars right there so I don't have to cart the coal back but I can still get the mining experience. I tend to get 3-4 bars of addy made within a backpack load of mithril from that location. It's not "fast" but it adds up.
As soon as I had around 28 bars of addy, I made a quick visit to Varrock to smith them into Adamantite woodcutting axes, and then did some f2p world-hopping within the Draynor bank, advertising the axes for sale.
In pretty much every f2p world I hopped to, I sold at least three axes, and in one, I sold 10 or so. Most people paid the full cash amount I asked for, but occasional ones paid in cash and objects if I felt like taking what they were offering. In the end, after about 45 min of hanging around and trading, I banked 75k in cash, nevermind what the value of the food and objects I received!
Excellent. Addy axes are a great way to jack up the amount of cash I have on hand. I'll keep this in mind! I've already sold about 60 addy axes since this first run
![]()
Inevitably I run into somebody who says "I know ppl who sell addy axes for 800gp", when 800gp is a few thousand cheaper than I'm selling mine for. These people are always there, I guess trying to encourage other people to not buy, or to at least offer a lower price.
I engaged in a fun conversation with the guy, letting him know I'd been quite successful at selling at the rate I was advertising, and then asked him "who the joker was". He misinterpreted what I said and repeated himself, so I re-clarified my point: Dude, I'm selling this for thousands more than that other guy you know about - who's making more money in this deal?? Who's the smart one now??
Sillies. The reality of economy either boggles or outright annoys this individual, I'm sure.

Runescape Farming, good filler and extra cash!
Ever since Maximum Security wrote his entry on "Just Set It And Forget It" about the new Member's skill, farming, I've been making sure to plant a little here and there when I'm in Catherby.
My playing habits regularly bring me to Catherby, as I don't buy food from other players, I fish my own, and I regularly use swordfish for my healing food. Since fishing and cooking 100 swordfish takes some time and some running bank-and-forth to the bank, I figured I would farm at that same time, and every two trip to the bank to deposit fish, I'd pop over to the farming area north of the bank and make sure nothing needed watering, plant curing or harvesting.
After doing all the Slayer killing of Trolls up in the Death Plateau, I've got a lot of different types of seeds, so I really haven't had to seek out seeds for my planting. Sure, I've got a couple hundred onions and potatoes and tomatoes in my bank account now, but I've also got 70 prayer potions resulting from the Ranarr weed I grew!
I think this Saturday morning will be a lot about selling off what I have in my bank account but don't really need. Things like the 10k of steel arrows I've fletched but haven't sold yet, all the prayer potions which can be sold for 5k each, and whatever else I have in my bank account that's just cluttering it up and has some kind of player value.
I'm sure glad I'm not a non-member, as their bank limitations are pretty crazy compared to members... and I've practically filled my member bank up too!!
Seeya on the game!

Running Law Runes on World 66
I'm not as advanced as the other bloggers participating here, I don't have anything beyond dragon long, dragon battle axe and dragon dagger (poisoned) - no dragon armor yet. But, my Slayer levels are into the 50's now so I'm getting some good opponents from my Slayer Master in the Lost City. Lvl 122 Hellhounds recently, and now lvl 131 Bronze Dragons.
But, this evening's bit of playing was about re-stocking my collection of Law Runes, which are of course used for mage teleports between cities, etc, so you don't have to run all over the place on foot. I teleport a lot, and recently the monsters I've been killing haven't been dropping Law Runes.
So, tonight I took advantage of the member's world 66 which somehow became a collection point for high-level runecrafters needing lots of rune essence to advance their levels further, and those players who were seeking Law runes and would "run" the essence back and forth for the crafters.
If you're not familiar with the process, bring 27 unnoted essence to World 66 Entrana rune site to exchange for 27 law runes and 27 noted essence which you bring back to the bank to deposit and start the cycle again. If you can craft Law runes, go talk to one of the crafters and see how you can join in and get zooming experience ![]()
Tonight I noticed something a little different - while there's still the noticable stream of people going from Draynor Bank to the docks to get to Entrana, there are now people providing "taxi" services.
I used to try to follow other players to the docks and back and within Entrana, but it doesn't work very well unless you're very close to them (obstacles stop you otherwise) and then if you're very close to people and following, they figure it out and sometimes get a little miffed at it. So, seeing the "taxi" services was a great idea, I thought out of the very lazy side of my brain.
There weren't "enough" taxi's for me to make use of them regularly, but perhaps it's an idea that will catch on further.
After I got my Law rune stash up to 150 I stopped, as there were a lot more Law rune-seekers than Law rune-crafters on tonight.
Does anyone know of a world where Nature runes have a 'run' going like that? Are there any high-level runecrafters who want to band together to get it going? We could advertise it here ![]()

Bored. Nothing to do. Woo hoo.
I bought a new friend to go along with my pet whip, the Dragon Square Shield.
If any of you are avid readers of my blog, you'll remember how I found a Dragon Left Half shield sometime around in February. I sold it for about 7.5m and to this day I honestly don't know what I did with the money but I know I spent it on useless things and I ended up having none of it in the end. At the time I told myself that I would be better off selling the left half, because I needed the money to help give me a better start at membership and because I knew it would help me in the long run. I also vowed that one day, once I had enough money to buy one, I'd do it, and today I have.
Well, I guess that's the major topic of today, since it's something new. There's only so much you can write about for Runescape, to be honest I'm really running out of ideas, but many people have told me that they enjoy reading about what high leveled and high skilled players do. So I guess I'll try to focus on that.
Well today I'm not doing much. Just training my slayer. I completed about four task today. First I hunted down some Fire Giants using Range fighting style. I brought along my Iron Darts, Full black d hide, ranger boots, legends cape, ring of wealth, glory amulet, ranger's helmet, unholy book of zamorak, etc. I finished the task in about an hour or two and didn't manage to get any rare drops (out of 90 fire giants!). I did however manage to find a new friend there. She's level 96 or so and a very talented Runescape player, she's only had membership for 2 months but she's already nearly the same skill point level as me (1500)!
Then I was told to kill a few werewolves. Did that. Few noobs asked me stupid questions like "Give me ur abby whip or I hack u" and of the sort. No good drops for some reason. Then I was told to go kill a few blue dragons. No good drops either, but a great source for d hides and bones. Finally I was told to take down. Still no good drops and still no nice people to meet.
Anyways, now it's around 11:40 Eastern US time. I'm bored, tired, and about to sleep. I might as well try something new for the last 20 minutes of the day. I think I'll go try and kill some dust devils. I hear they can drop Dragon Chains. Wish me luck guys.
Here's a picture of cloud doing something with some weird weapon.

TzHaar
TzHaar
And so a month later I finally decide to try out this new TzHaar place. Why I decided to never give it a shot before this day I don't know, but whoop dee doo I tried it. Better late than never right? Okay yeah I'm lame, thanks...
I actually came to this place because I wanted to try out my new Dharok Armor in the newly added Fight Pits. Since I heard you can come here wearing all your armor (No silly hats or capes like in Castle Wars), no tense "1 on 1s" like in Duel Arena, and no risk of losing your hard earned equipment. Sounded pretty good, and I have to admit I actually enjoyed participating in the fight pits.
For most of you that have never been to the fight pits, here's basically what goes on:
1) You wait in this "Waiting Area" until the game finishes.
2) Once the game begins you wait for about 20 seconds to get potted and ready to fight.
3) Start killing random people. No offical teams, just random players attacking other random players. Multi combat zone.
*Since this is an FFA, feel free to attack whoever you want whenever you want. You don't have to team on each other. Odds are you'll probably end up being teamed on later anyhow*
4) If you die, no biggie. You don't lose anything, except maybe your dignity ![]()
5) If you win, congratulations, you've become the Champion of the Fight Pits. That is, until the next game starts
6) Take it from there. Develop your own strategies and have fun.
Maybe the reason why I liked it soo much was because I met another player there who was kind enough to guide me through the whole process and support me throughout the fight. Heck, she even helped me to become the Champion for a game! I played several games with her, and most of the time we would team on someone and end up having to kill each other when everyone was dead and it was only me and her left. Eventually we invited other high leveled players into our little team, but then it got really weird... And once she left I was just like "Whatever... This got whack... I'm out".
Didn't make a new friend today... Oh wells
I'll talk to her next time I see her. Looking for a single player in a world of thousands... This will be easy.
*There are a lot of things in TzHaar like the new currency system that only works here and new armors and weapons, but I don't feel like typing up such a long blog. I find that most people are more interested in the "Combat" aspects of the game, so I try to highlight on those experiences.*
But before I came to the Fight Pits... I accidentally walked in on this new Cave mini game, also a new... Combat themed mini game, except you fight monsters, many strong, high leveled monsters. However I originally thought this place was the Fight Pits, so I waited and nobody came. Just a bunch of NPCs that wanted to kill me, but I'm sure actual players would've probably had the same intention
Basic rules of the new Cave mini game for those of you that don't yet know.
1) Fight monsters.
2) As you kill more monsters, newer, stronger monsters, along with the ones you just killed will eventually come about. The strongest monster here is sort of like a boss, over level 700 and is very difficult to beat.
3) This is a multi combat zone, and this isn't an FFA. All the monsters will team up on you, ALL OF THEM, AT ONCE.
4) If you die, you won't lose anything. Just time.
5) If you win, I hear you can get a pretty nice cape. But be warned, it is extremely difficult to win this mini game, and unless you are over level 100 I wouldn't recommend you spend hours trying to win it.
But of course, I went in there thinking everything would be easy as are most of Runescape's mini games. So I left my character there and literally went to go fry and egg and make a bagel. I assumed Cloud would be fine since the strongest monster I had to kill was only level 90, but eventually I came back and saw poor little Cloud being attacked by like 4 of these really big dinosaur mage thingies (EXCUSE MY TERMINOLOGIES PLEASE). I panicked like a little girl and ran out.
Then I came back in and tried again. After 40 minutes I got bored and was running low on food and realized I couldn't win this mini game, at least not yet.
Yep, TzHaar, two new mini games that are meant for us higher leveled players. Enjoy.
If you're wondering why there's no damage being dealt to the big dinosaur thingy... It's because for some reason I can't get a screen shot of Cloud striking and having the damage counter appear at the same time. Dinosaur thingy can be killed with melee.
