Let me begin this contest month with a shot of Molly with her new guild shield and matching love robe ![]()

I need to get an isignia on that shield still. That means dedicating it to a particular God to give me a bonus to cast his wonderful array of spells, most likely the skull insignia of Qor when I get the chance. Yes, Im glowing blue, but not because Im sad. The photographer must of had a lens flare or something...
Or as my good friend put it:
Sven sends, "†±( Peåce ßrïngêrs )±† :O;-): § O:-))))) you are an irridescent personality
Loqieu and I have been MIA for a while, both in game and in blog as it seems. We're both in the same guild now, the Peace Bringers as seen above in the tag. Hopefully, I can get us both to post more now that there's a contest. So all and all, A good month. I've barely played, but have been played a compliment and recieved a nice shiny guild shield to proudly displayed until I die horribly.

The second coming of Loqieu….or is this the fourth time?
es, it’s none other! I’m back...again! It’s been a grueling two and a half months at my new job, but over the past two weeks I was able to pry myself away from work just long enough to start playing Meridian again. I’m sorry it’s taken so long to write up another post, but when the needs of real life beckon, dealing with spells and PKs takes a backseat.
But now that I am back, it’s given me a nice perspective to appreciate that people really are into the game and spend a lot of time on it. Everything seems like I left it. AD and Reins are still at war. My guild, the Peace Bringers, is still around, so no problems there. It looks like we’ve been hit pretty hard by PKs attacking us. I noticed the population dipped slightly, so it’s not a surprised that people would turn their attention to use once they have no one else to fight.

RPGClass Quiz 2!
Yar!
Arcane Trickster
40% Combativeness, 60% Sneakiness, 64% Intellect, 19% Spirituality
Brilliant and sneaky: You are an Arcane Trickster!
Score! You have a prestige class. A prestige class can only be taken after you've fulfilled certain requirements. This may mean that you're an exceptionally talented person, but it probably doesn't.
Arcane Tricksters combine arcane magic with rogue skills and sensibilities. They use their magic to confuse their opponents or to augment their more mundane, roguish skills. If you thought it was annoying keeping an eye that that rogue, the Arcane Trickster is probably picking your pocket from the other side of the room.
Both smart and sneaky, you're probably the type of person that loves planning practical jokes... either that or knocking over banks.

M59 Meme
1. Name 3 good things about the game you're playing.
a) Skill based game versus class based, making characters actually stimulates the brain.
b) Player accountability with the community, but that effect sometimes becomes negative, but is always interesting.
c) Open PvP. It can be harsh, but it keeps the blood pumping.
2. What is your in-game pet peeve?
Everyone wants to fight in Tos, the central city in the game. But if we spread ourselves out, we'd have less problems with interference in our fights. Yet for some reason we still cluster around certain spots and wonder why every fight attracts a crowd.
3. I dare you to tell me your most embarrassing moment!
When I died to a baby spider. Actually, it was a PvP fight and the other player had me beat, but the spider got the kill shot on me as it wandered by, so the server got a nice broadcast of ###Black Molly has been killed by a baby spider.
4. What do you think could be improve?
I dont think the Devs really need to do much of anything to 'improve' the game. At this point in the game's life, the only changes need to be done by the community. Most of the people who like to grief in this game could be ostracized and that would effectively eliminate them from the community. If no one was willing to interact with them, they wouldn't be able to PvP without becoming a murderer. And since they are pariahs, they would not recieve pardons and no one would trade with any of their alternate characters who might not be murderers. They'd essentially be driven off the server. And this isn't used in a bad way, to punish people or an ability wielded by the largest guild. For the effect to work, it would take 95% of the server, and there are only 2-3 assholes that 95% of the server agrees should go. Unfortunetly, most people think they can eliminate the griefers by fighting them, but that is what they want; attention.
This is a unique position for M59, that the player's hold enough sway over the game, I imagine similiar to ATITD, but I've never played in Egypt.
And I tag Loqieu if he hasn't been tagged already ![]()

Vale of Sorrow

edi planned a negative Vale node run yesterday at 2pm EST. Previously we had tried for a guild only version of this, but not enough people showed up, so this time it was for everyone on the server. Looks like everything went well. I say looks like, because as on most weekends, 2pm is just a bit too early for me to wake up and make it.
Being the lucky person I am, around 10pm EST Khan started broadcasting about when the negative Vale node run was going to start. After I informed him of it taking place earlier in the day, he decided to put together one himself, right then and there.

10 years online anniversary
We're approaching the 10 year anniversary of when Meridian 59 first went into public testing. It was December 15th, 1995 that the alpha client was made available to download and connect to the servers. This Thursday there's going to be commemoration events on both 101 and 102. You can check out more on the thread at Gilroy's forums. It's pretty amazing how it's been 10 years already. I started playing in early '97, and that's still almost 9 years ago.
One of the events is going to be an auction. I'm not sure how high the prices will go, but I'm sure it'll be far over my current bank balance. I'll be on the island doing bow runs up until the auction. Hopefully I'll be able to get something there. Otherwise, I'll have stockpiled enough cash to 99 some spells.
You might remember last week where I said I should have enough money to last until level 5 Qor, yeah, well that didn't work out. I hit 100k late last week and have been farming on the island since. I think I'm at 250k or so now, but I can definitely bump it up in the next few days.
Something that has been taking up a lot of my free time is the MeridianWiki.com site. It seems like the more content I add, the more I realize there's more to add! I haven't even got around to making posting formats for all the links on the main page. One thing I have done at least is "finalizing" the links on the main page. I highly suggest, and would greatly appreciate, any additions to the wiki that you may have.
