Updates...updates....
As any mmorpg blogger can probably relate to, it sometimes gets a lot harder to blog as you get more involved in a game. It is as if every spare minute you have available, you want to spend in the game rather than opening up something else, like email or IE, which is why I'm currently blogging during my lunch hour at work
.
A few updates:
1) I'm sad to say that my friend 'A' who posted as a guest, unfortunately got 2 of his accounts banned. I don't know the exact details of how it occurred, but in terms of his losses, he probably has lost close to 1 billion adena's worth of game currency, materials, armors, weapons and miscellenous items. Not only that, his main toon was in the high 70's level and that's probably related to about a year's worth of work, particularly while he is also a father of 3 children and a full-time employee. Also his other toons which were on the same accounts were his dwarf crafter which had a multitude of top grade recipes learned and was probably generating a daily income of 10 million adena. When he called me to tell me of the incident, he was pretty drunk (fortunately he was at home when it happened) and so, was not feeling too much of pain due to the loss of his accounts.
On that note, he was not the only casualty of the latest wave of game banning. Multiple bot groups have disappeared from the game - looks like that NCSoft finally grew a pair and utilized a major game cauterization. Unfortunately it also was rather generalized and happen to hit dedicated players like A. Also, I've heard rumors that the GMs also banned toons that were supposedly reported to them to be bots, but they did not actually do proper investigation. Granted I understand that they are probably overloaded with petitions on a daily basis, but sometimes you wonder how far they will take their God complex.
As for A, a friend of his with a generous heart bought 2 brand new accounts for him so that 'A' can get back in the game. A still had his wife's account, so they were not at a total loss but he is determined that he will spend Thanksgiving doing some serious leveling. More updates on that soon.
2) I've come to the conclusion that in order to be able to survive in this game, I had to create a crafter. So I now have Shiiitake, my bounty hunter, and Porchini, my crafter (yes, there's a reason we have a theme, and yes, my spelling isn't the best). Together with my husband's dwarf crafter, JamesonCEO (if you watch the Ghost in the Shell series, you'd get the reference), we have created a crafting clan called FungusAmongus.
I have to say, I am having a great time leveling the dwarves, because they have incredible physical defense, physical attack and also decent running speed. Not only that, their health gauge is higher compared to other toons and I've been able to craft/spoil on my own.
So Yas/Kaeyah has been put on hiatus for a while until I can get my spoiler/crafter up to levels so that they can actually start making money for me. A-grade gets expensive and Yas will be there for a while.
With that, I wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and a safe one. I'll be going camping so I'm going to be technology-free for a few days. Till next time, happy Gaming ^^

Guest Blog - My friend 'A'
Well well well…….my first blog appearance -Not really sure how to approach this so here goes my best effort. I play Lineage II, an MMORPG.
In this game I have developed a toon most all my interest:
Toon # 1- my main char is a 70+ Bladedancer (this is the character that I use to basically kick some butt with. He is topped off with the best gear possible for A-grade.)
Toon # 2 - Dwarf – Artisan (This is my money maker. When I got my main character into the 60’s I found it extremely expensive to keep leveling. So I decided to take a few weeks to get a dwarf that I created a while back, who was stuck at 36 forever, up in levels so she could craft stuff for others in game for a reasonable price (income). Once I reached lvl 62 with this toon, it took a lot of money and time to equip this char with the recipes that are in demand. Still short 3 or 4 recipes, she is almost complete. Now I make roughly 4-10m a day which provides me the ability to 1) craft whatever I want when I want 2) keep my main char supplied with SS and such.
Toon # 3-Lvl 61 Hawkeye- This character is a free for all toon that I PvP with and Pk with when need be. I basically use this toon for farming Kali coins and when I am tired of playing my main toon and need a break from the norm.
Toon # 4- Dwarf - Lvl 50 Bounty Hunter – This is a toon that was created and used to spoil different mats/parts/recs for when I craft. I usually like to save my adena to roughly around 30m and try a big craft. If the craft goes I put the weapon on the market……slightly higher than normal price, and wait for it to sell. I enjoy the rewards and reinvest the profits into another craft.
Toon # 5- Lvl 45 Treasure Hunter – This is a toon I get much enjoyment from. She has the ability to silent walk. I like watching bots go DOWN. Before the newest patch, I would round up about 15-20 mobs and drop them right on a bot train and wait for them to drop some armor. I would then take the armor and crush it for crystals. Sell the crystals and make cash’ ola.
I am all about making money in game. The more you make the better/faster you can level. I look forward to all your comments and questions.
** Note from Reai0314 - you can leave comments with this posting and I'll make sure A gets them ^^ **

A Grade Baby! Oh Yeah!
I hit Level 61 the other night. Finally. Took me three attempts because I kept pulling too much aggro, so I kept dying. At least I have enough skill points to get my new skills when I hit 62.
So I get to put on my new clothes ^^ however, the new clothes got a new look too!
Before C5 Launch:

After C5 Launch:

Isn't she pur-ty?
Next: Majestic jewels (top A-grade jewellery) and the Damascus duels.

I'm late! I'm late!.....
The famous quote of the White rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.... sorry for the tardiness, real life tends to get in the way ^^. I landed a new job and things got a little sidetracked, but with the blogging competition underway, I guess I better start catching up with my postings. So here goes....
1) As per Ophelea's comment on my last post, how did the Medal event go? Honestly, it was fun in the beginning, but after a few days, it came to dawn on me that the only people who would necessarily benefit from the event are people who don't have full-time jobs and have the luxury to play all day and all night, and people who bot. So I pretty much ended up cashing in all my medals to other people. Most of the time people were willing to pay a decent amount for them - ranging between 5k to 7k a medal, which wasn't bad money. Ironically enough, the day that the event ended, apparently a whole bunch of Lineage 2 accounts got banned, i.e. the botters. It still amazes me how blatant people are with their bots and how open they allow them to run around. Really, how often do you see someone playing a toon called '435235kjl', or '234sadgf43'? Of course, the only reason I can think to not ban botters is money-related. It all adds up when you realize that 1 account is equivalent to $15 a month. That is a lot of revenue for NCSoft, not to say that that's why they don't do the banning but I'm not going to defend their case. I just call it as I see it.
The event did help drive down market prices for certain items, like blessed scrolls of escape (very useful when you need to run from pk'ers), and blessed scrolls of resurrection (very useful when it takes a week to get 10% experience). So there are good sides and bad sides to the whole situation.
2) In other news, I forgot to mention that, when C5 came out, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Yas had a totally new look - apparently NCSoft decided to give light armor sets a different look.
On the Left: Before C5 launch. On the Right: After C5 launch.

Pretty cool huh? I thought so too, and I dig the neat skull that's nicely nestled strategically ^^. Gives a whole new meaning to accessories.
Anyway I have a whollllllle lot of stuff to blog. Stay tuned!

Lineage II Event - Heavy Medal
At 12 pm CST, a new Lineage II event starts and will last the next week or so till Oct 3rd. Medals will drop from monsters you kill and by collecting the medals, you can trade them in for rewards. What am I looking for? Enchant weapon scrolls!!
Talk about lack of sleep for this week. Eek.

What it means to hit Level 61 ... A-grade....
I am about 70% away from hitting Level 61, which is considered A-grade level. What does that mean? MONEY. Everything gets more and more expensive as you get higher and higher. The weapons, armor, soulshots and blessed spiritshots (these enhance your m-atk and p-atk, can't live without them).
Granted I can hit higher level mobs that drop more money, but still. Sigh, they weren't kidding when they said Money makes the world go round.
Anyway here are the A-grade sword duels I want really bad - Damascus Duels.

P.Atk = 282, M.Atk = 114.
"When a dualsword is enchanted along with a two-handed sword, a two-handed blunt weapon, and/or a fist-fighting weapon, its P. Atk will increase more than a one-handed sword enchanted with these weapons. When enchanted by 4 or more, Accuracy will increase by 6. Enhances damage to target during PvP."
Right now Damascus duels that are clean (no enchantments) probably go for about 100 million adena, who knows how much a +4 goes for. Cheapest way to get them is to craft them and I have the blades. It's the darn freaking damascus recipes that are so expensive though. I saw 1 for 20 million adena because they are so freaking rare. *sob sob*

The Irony....
So I finally managed to get back online, the cable guy fixed the cable wire and very kindly tacked the cable higher so that it is inaccessible to the canine member of the family. A lot has happened since then.
1) The Deliverance Alliance has been dissolved, though we do keep in touch with the Aluminati clan (they're awesome!). The clan leader of the other clan in the alliance, Rememberance, has gone to the Faded clan, who supposedly try to be the most notorious clans on the server. Hmm... honestly, the game has been around long enough that we have about 2-3 big clans with members who are in their 70s. So there really isn't much of a monopoly so far.
2) The ROTX clan was going to be disbanded, but turns out that a few people who are friends of the clan decided to join up with us and push us onward, which is cool. So instead of disbanding, we are now moving onwards as fast as we can to get to level 70s and to become an elite guard clan for the Darkside alliance.
3) C5 has been pretty interesting since its release, particularly with the introduction of the Demonic Sword Zariche! Here's some info on it and a picture:
"Demonic Sword Zariche
The weapon of slaughter, the Demonic Sword Zariche, was once used by the Demon Bremmnon, one of the four demon kings.
All monsters in the world have the potential to drop it. However, only one of these exists in the whole world. When Zariche is dropped in the world, the entire world becomes dark for a short period of time, the ground shakes, and a system message notifies all players that the demonic sword has been found.
The character that acquires Zariche goes into a chaotic state (red) instantly, and his/her HP, CP, and MP are fully recovered (100%).
When a character acquires Zariche, it is equipped automatically and is impossible to un-equip. It is impossible to drop, exchange, or destroy this item from your inventory.
Zariche automatically disappears after a certain period of time (once acquired), regardless if the character is logged in or not. When the player wielding Zariche kills another player, Zariche’s lifespan shortens but the sword's abilities increase. The character who possesses Zariche will be notified by a system message with how much time is remaining.
When a character who possesses Zariche dies, it disappears or is dropped immediately."
* Taken from the Lineage 2 website (www.Lineage2.com)

Currently a major bug with the demon sword being used in the same area as a player may caused the player to get kicked off the game. It happened to me twice, though I did managed to see the sword in action. It's pretty neat but unfortunately it's monopolized by the larger clans who will pk any lower toon that happens to get the sword.
4) I've started a dwarf - she's called Shiiitake and she's my little bounty hunter
.
Here's a picture of her with a friend's dwarf. The funny thing is that the male counterpart of the dwarf class is this old fudgity pudgity character of a short old man who is absolutely unattractive. Mine's the redhead ^^.
5) And yes, I did notice that the comments in my last few postings were from commercial websites selling L2 adena. The irony of it... Is there no way for me to delete any comments?
