My minstrel friend and I spent an hour or two in Angmar. We finished up some of her quests, and mine. Now that my champion is fiftieth level it's all about filling up those "other" bars: crafting and reputation. The reputation quests for Council of the North in Angmar are tough. And we have to fight are way through dozens of "trash mobs" just to do them. I was trying to remember that this game is fun.
Which I did a bit later when I joined up with another minstrel friend and a guardian. The minstrel was on his last leg to fifty so we ran around Northern Angmar finishing up some of his quests. Since there was a guardian I got to switch to my Fervour stance: no defense but a decent damage bonus. I had to really pay attention to aggro, but that made it more fun too.
I would use the Area Attacks to get the aggro off the minstrel and the guardian would get it off of me. We took down the Elite-Master Morraval, twice (the second time by accident) and I switched to Controlled Burn, which allowed me to deal with adds and handle some of the aggro since the Guardian was running out of power. I had to constantly use my interrupts to keep the mob from healing back to TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND moral points. (See my earlier blog on Hit points.)
But it was fun. Even though the minstrel was hard to keep with, it was great to be part of a good group that worked together well. Oh, and the minstrel made fiftieth level, so I congratulated him for acheiving the empty exp-bar.
