EVE - The Forgotten Game

Like many of you, I started playing Eve when it first started. And like many of you, I left to follow the siren sound of the new games. Back in August, I was bored. My primary play guild had decided that Starwars Galaxies was boring and I agreed with them, at least to the extent that SWG wasn't much fun without a good guild.

For some reason, I decided to give Eve another chance. That may have been the luckiest break that I have had in a long time. This game has more surprises than you can imagine.

First, imagine a game company that apologizes for down time by giving you credit for when the service was down. Eve, recently, gave everyone two days credit when the service had a brief hiccup. Top that off with customer support that actually responds to your petitions.

Eve has different aspects for different people. You like to fight other players...head for the outer areas. You like to research new items...become a scientist. You like to make things...then mining or manufacturing is for you.

This is a game that has a strong European base. And it has a fairly old gamer base. I have heard that the average age for an Eve player is in the 30s.

If that wasn't enough wait until the new expansion comes out. Oh, by the way, this company won't release the expansion until it is ready. It was due out this week, but was postponed for one week because it wasn't ready.

If you haven't tried Eve in a while, now is your chance to check it out again. You may be surprised.
