The Shadow Crypt

Ok, we've wiped out all the bad guys leading up to this quest.

The Herald of the Emerald Claw requires your assistance in stopping Brother Nerezza and obtaining the Twisted Apocrypha. You must discover the treacherous path through the Shadow Crypt to defeat Brother Nerezza.

We actually tried this last week and failed miserably. Well, not miserably, but ... badly.

The quest is a magical maze - everytime you go through a hallway, you may or may not end up in a room you were aiming at. There are a total of 8 keys (12 if you want more loot) you have to gather, to unlock the final boss room. You can end up in a different room each time, or the same room. It appears to be completely random...which makes for a long quest. At the end, you get a nasty surprise.

Tomb of the Shadow King

Samir Sirka of the Silver Flame has entrusted you with the responsibility of defeating the mummy guardian, Nsu. Enter the Tomb of the Shadow King and extinguish all light to awaken the mummy, but beware the dark is the source of his power.

Wow. Lots of running around on this quest. Had to go to multiple locations and turn out the lights, fighting shadow wargs, shadow mages, shadow gargoyles, invisible stalkers (those are fun). When we finally got the lights turned out, we had to find the bad guy and lead him to a room where we had to throw some switches at just the right time to turn on this really bright light. Only then could we fight him. If it was dark, we couldn't hit him for squat.

We had to leave one person in the trap, one person up top on one switch, and I got to run up, hit the other switch at the same time, jump down, fight till the lights went out, find the ladder, and repeat.

We managed to do it, tho.

All that's left is the shadow crypt, now that we got rid of all the mummies.

Tomb of The Shadow Lord

Next in the series, and only one more to go. It's slow going when you can only get together for a few hours on a saturday, but then...back in the day, we used to play Pencil and Paper (yeah, we were wimps, and used pencils) once a week on Saturday nights...where was I?

Oh, yeah. The tomb.

The Warforged, Xaeon Penthrax of the Silver Flame, enlists your help to enter the Tomb of the Shadow Lord and defeat the Mummy, Nebtawi. Heed Xaeon's advice: don't go along and do not lose sight of your party.

This was a tomb filled with switches and shadows. It took a while, but we made our way through, and beat the bad guy. Of course, we're 2-3 levels above the quest level, and we're playing on casual, so it wasn't horrendously tough, either.

The Shadow King might be, tho...

The Necromancer!

The necromancer who forced Delera's shade to do his bidding has returned to the graveyard, along with his lieutenant, Zan'glaen the Butcher. Kill Dreadlord Giddeon to prevent him from controlling Delera again.

And with those words, we were off! More skeletons, wights, shades, and general nastiness. Wall of fire is a wonderful tool, tho. My Pure Good Scimitor of Ghost Touch helped occasionally, too - the baddies are evil, and really don't like Good :)

In the end, for all his boasting, we defeated the Dreadlord, and helped Delera find rest. It was a long quest as we were taking our time, so that was all we did today.

You killed Dreadlord Giddeon, necromancer and follower of the Blood of Vol. Freed from his dark commands, Delera and the other souls in the graveyard can rest in peace.

Questing in the Morning

Since my flight was cancelled (yay, snow!) I had some time on my hands this morning, so me and one of my guildmates decided to do some questing after I got done shoveling.

First, we hit "The Church and the Cult".

It has become evident that the cult known as the Blood of Vol has sought a foothold within the city of Stormreach. The Temple of Vol has managed to lure many with its promises of eternal life granted to those most loyal to Vol. Although the Blood has committed no wrongdoing, the Church of the Silver Flame still wants the temple investigated.

That's us - investigators for hire! We defeated the guardian, and consecrated several of the altars within the Temple. Then we found the true priest of Vol, a vampire named Lord Adran ir'Karsmore. We defeated him after a long battle - the guy would turn into a swarm of bats at the most annoying times. Mission accomplished - on to more saving the world!

Not the typical Drow

Turbine's released a bunch of images showcasing the Drow, a playable race for those who either earn enough favor or purchase from the Turbine Store. The Drow in Eberron aren't what you might remember from so long ago, tho!

The elves of Eberron were born on the mysterious southern continent of Xen'drik, where they were slaves of the giant kingdoms. Tens of thousands of years ago, elf slaves rebelled against their masters. Unlike other elf races who fled the continent, the drow stayed behind on Xen'drik. Today most of the drow live within the ancient giant ruins, hoping to take vengeance on their former masters and to learn the secrets of the giants' long-lost might. The drow believe that they alone preserve the dignity and valor of the elf race, dismissing the rebels who fled to Aerenal and their Valenar heirs.

You can check out all the screenshots in the Gallery!

Can't play if you're sick

Logged on tonight to play, first time in a while! and found that at least two of our gang were down...maybe with the flu. Hopefully not THAT flu, but it was bad enough that they couldn't play.

Hate it when that happens. My PD guy has done all the solo stuff, and needs to group, and I had grouping with strangers, so he has to sit.

My other guys...all need group quests, so they have to sit.

So, no gaming for me. Hopefully the gang will feel better soon!

Harbor Questing

Had some time this morning, so the guildmates and I took a quick tour of the quests the Lobster had to offer. Managed to hit all of them on hard, except for Info is Key - that was normal, because the masses of kobolds are hard enough as it is!

Also did the new quests in the Cerulean Hills and the quest out at the lighthouse. I managed to get my new Favored Soul character up to 900 points from level 4.

Not too shabby considering the short time I've been playing him.

Next time we play with the FvS, we'll do the waterworks. That should be interesting :)
