Have you ever been stuck at work wondering what is going on in Egypt? Well, not anymore.
eGenesis has launched a new website that aims to help players and potential players get a better feel for A Tale in The Desert III, its features, and its community. For this purpose, the website takes advantage of Flash and XML technology to bring you an Event Calendar that will bring up-to-the-minute game news live to your web browser.

Z and Levin's trip to Wexford, Pa.
------------------
Last week, when Levin Stevens (Office Manager, Art Guy, and Crime Fighting
Ninja) and I went to Wexford, Pennsylvania to look at hotels and conference centers to host the upcoming player meet, we also took the opportunity to scout out potential locations for the new eGenesis office.
After looking at a slew of places for the player meet, we decided that the
Official Hotel and Meeting center will be the Four Points by Sheraton Pittsburgh North. We also got rates across the parking lot at a Comfort Inn for a more economic choice, but both hotels were great.
Levin was overly impressed by the Sheraton's indoor/outdoor pool system. I
was more interested in the 90-something-year-old man walking around in his
swim trunks hitting on the young women. It's something I aspire to be.
The hotel was great. It had a sports bar, café-style restaurant, fountains, and a jazzercise area right in the main court yard. One of the
coolest parts is that some of the rooms have an all-glass wall which lets
you look down at people at the café or sports bar.
The Comfort Inn, although a cheaper choice, is still a great hotel. All of
the rooms were newly renovated. Great beds, a mini fridge in each room, and free wireless Internet through the entire hotel. Plus with the Comfort Inn you get a free continental breakfast and 15% off the two restaurants next door, Max & Erma's and the Long Horn Steak house.
Unfortunately this trip did not find us a new office. It's going to take
time to find a unique place to accommodate all of Teppy's extra curricular
hobbies (DDR, competition BBQ, amateur pyrotechnics, etc.) While speaking
with the Realtor, however, we did find out that Wexford, Pa. does not
actually exist. Levin and I weren't really sure what he was talking about
and have decided to go for a new Realtor.
Surrounded by trees and hills, Wexford is no bustling metropolis. But that
doesn't mean there isn't plenty to do. Numerous restaurants and shopping
centers are all within walking distance from the hotel, and hopefully our
new office as well. It seems like a nice place.

Newest Demi-Pharaoh
The winner of the Demi-Pharaoh election is TheDude.
Demi-Pharaoh voting results: TheDude - 431, SunnyOne - 401
Qetesh had some interesting thoughts on the DP elections so far: "The
elections in Tale 3 seem to all be heading toward having two finalists, and whether it's coincidence or not, the past two elections have had a
prominent Tale 1 player running against a prominent Tale 2 player. I'm
wondering if the playerbase is polarized in any way - T1 vs. T2 regulars? A larger proportion of the playerbase seems to be voting in DP elections -
and I hope interest in it will stay high, but it has tended to decrease as
the tale went on in the past. Perhaps a two-candidate system will keep
interest high in Tale 3."

Words from Teppy:
Over the years I've had dozens of interests - things I get obsessed with,
and a surprising number of which make it into A Tale in the Desert in some
form. Flying, Soaring, Hang Gliding, Archery, Cooking, Pyrotechnics,
Guitar, Wine Collecting, Swimming Holes, Cigars, Dance Dance Revolution.
There's nothing I like better than finding some activity that I've never
given a moment's thought to, and diving right in. This year I'll be
attending the Burning Man Festival (www.burningman.com). I won't try to
describe it here - but a year from now, perhaps someone reading this can
remember to ask me whether anything from my upcoming adventure made it into ATITD. I would bet that the answer will be "yes".
