This character could be so fun it would blow away any other class, the utility available in the false profession (FP) lines let you be another class for a few min (exactly 30 min actually, and you can'r cancel them early) but your skills don't change. So you might look like a MP, you might have 2 floating meatballs above your head (Heal pet and attack pet) like a MP, cast some Rubi-Ka MP nano spells, but you still use your rifle in combat, and you an forget about tradeskilling implants like MPs can.
The drawbacks to the FP line are the increased nanocost, lower nanoskills, and slower casting (as in do not cast in combat or fight will be over before you finish at low levels) , and the fixed duration of the FP nano itself. You can't change professions until the first times out, and you seem to be always recasting either FP or agent buffs and burning through stacks of nano rechargers every hour.
Agents without FP are pretty bland damage per second (DPS) class that doesn't have the armor/shields of a soldier, the armor/health of enforcers. They don't have the heals/morphs of adventurers, or the evasion of the fixers, yet despite all this they do quite well at the DPS game, as long as they can squeeze into a higher and higher rifle (about 2x the agent's level). Since QL of weapons was supposed to (at one time) be the QL at which you could wear the weapon it can be quite a challenge to keep the rifle up to date.
Taking the above into account and my own preference for FP MP as you don't have to cast nanos in combat, you just order the pets to do their thing & you do yours, the agent is fun to play... for short periods...
I had intended to make the agent my new "main" character, having levelled my froob account agent to level 55, and had enjoyed it. What is causing me so much hassle is the buffing, I feel like I'm constantly rebuffing, sitting/recharge, FP, buff again. In LE (Lost Eden) missions I often have to rebuff just before the boss, or midway through the mission, not a good time to be sitting down refilling your nano pool!
This round looks like the MP wins, I'll be playing Mimorytwist more, and spending more time/credits on keeping her up to date than the agent. At least until Tabula Rasa comes out... ~_^
